The Gospel on the Ground

Biblical culturist, Kristi McLelland, wrote the Bible study, The Gospel on the Ground. In it, she unpacks the life of the early church in the book of Acts exploring the call from Jesus to His disciples (both then and now).

The Gospel on the Ground is a seven-session video-driven Bible study. It includes six weeks of personal study in addition to the videos led by McLelland, each of which is roughly an hour long.

The thing about this Bible study, is that it was designed to be done in a group. McLelland talks about how in the time Jesus walked the earth, Rabbi’s had their disciples discuss important topics even before they taught them. It helped disciples own their faith. They didn’t just listen, they participated in it.

I’ve been wanting to do this Bible study ever since I heard about it in early 2023. The problem is, I could never find someone willing to invest an hour a week to watch the videos, plus invest the time for personal study and group discussions.

My hope is, that by inviting Christian women online, everyone will be able to join in as their able. You can watch the video when you have time, and then join in on the discussion on Facebook.

Kristi McLelland is a speaker, teacher, and college professor. Since completing her Masters of Arts in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary, she has dedicated her life to discipleship, to teaching people how to study the Bible for themselves, and to writing about how God is better than we ever knew by explaining the Bible through a Middle Eastern lens. Her great desire for people to truly experience the love of God birthed a ministry in which she leads biblical study trips to Israel, Turkey, Greece, and Italy.
