Christmas is a season of waiting… one of anticipation.
It always has been.
That first Christmas long ago was heralded by an angel. He told Zechariah his wife, Elizabeth, would have a son to announce the coming messiah. When Zechariah questioned the angel, he was struck dumb.
Elizabeth and Zechariah awaited their newborn son and the return of Zechariah’s voice.
Then there was Mary. Mary was also visited by an angel. She waited not just for the birth of her son, but also for Elizabeth’s child. She also waited for everyone to find out she was unwed and pregnant.
